   CONTENTS: Listening and Speaking MORAL VALUES/ EDUCATIONAL EMPHASES: TEACHING AIDS : ELEMENTS OF SMART LEARNING MANAGEMENT /GENERIC SKILLS : Making Association FUTURE STUDIES : Pupils will learn about historical thing in History subject NAME : Norjamilah Binti Ab Rahman DATE: 3 rd  February 2013 DAY : Tuesday YEAR : Year 4 THEME : World Of Knowledge NO. OF STUDENTS: 14 Pupils TOPIC: Unit 3  –  Yesterday and Today DURATION : 1 Hour TIME: 12.00  –  1.00 pm LESSON SUMMARY : Teacher will start the class by playing a game called “Simon says” where pupils need to listening carefully. Then, the teache r will read a sentences and the pupils need to guess the suitable picture. In the practice stage, pupils will create a new invention and need to explain about it. Teacher will give handout during production stage to test their understanding. Lastly, teacher will refresh what they had learn in today’s les son in the closure. CONTENT STANDARD : 1.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. LEARNING STANDARD : 1.1.4 Able to talk about related topics with guidance PUPILS` PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE : -   Pupil have already seen or used some of the things such as telephones and cars. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: 1)   Listen to the sentences read by the teacher. 2)   Respond and name the past and present invention. 3)   Create a new invention and talk about it. DAILY LESSON PLAN  STAGE CONTENT FOCUS/SKILLS TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES TEACHING AIDS/VALUE REMARKS/TEACHER`S NOTES TEACHER`S ACTIVITY PUPILS ACTIVITY INDUCTION SET (5 MINUTES) Listening 1.Teacher start the class by calling a pupils to come in front of the class. 2.Teacher asks all the student to stand up. 3.Teacher tells the students that they are going to play a game called “Simon says”  4.Teacher tells the student to react with the instruction which only had the word “Simon says” at the beginning of the instruction. 1.A pupils will ask to give a new word. 2.The pupil need to say “My name is _____, my word is ______, my sentence is ______”  2.All the students need to stand up. 3.The students will play the game of “Simon says”  4.The students will only react towards teacher’s instruction if the instruction is begin with “Simon says”  T : Who want to volunteer to give a new word today? T : Ok class, we are going to play a game. So, I want all of you to stand up T : We are going to play “Simon says”  T : You only need to response to my instruction if there are the word of “ Simon says” at the beginning of the instruction. -Simon says to raise your right hand. -Simon says to flick your fingers. -Simons says to shake your head   PRESENTATION STAGE (15 MINUTES) Listening and speaking 1.Teacher show pupils the pictures of past and present inventions and paste it in front of the class. 2.Teacher ask pupils whether they have seen all those inventions. 3.Teacher read a sentences that show one of the inventions and the students need to guess what is the inventions according to the characteristic of the invention 1.Pupils will see the picture shown by the teacher. 2.Pupils response to the teacher whether they have seen all those inventions or not. 3.Pupils need to guess the suitable invention according to the sentences given by teacher. 1.Picture of - computer -trishaw -car -mobile phone -firewood -stove 2. Cards contain the sentences about the invention. T : I will paste a few of picture and you need to watch carefully. T : List the names of the pictures. T : Have you ever seen all those things in the pictures. T : They are called as an old and new inventions. T : Can you tell me which one is the old or new invention? T : I will read a sentences about the picture and you need to guess what is the suitable picture for the sentence. T : You need to listen carefully.  STAGE CONTENT FOCUS/SKILLS TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES TEACHING AIDS/VALUE REMARKS/TEACHER`S NOTES TEACHER`S ACTIVITY PUPILS ACTIVITY PRACTICE STAGE (20 MINUTES) Speaking 1.Teacher divides the pupils into four groups. 2.Teacher give the activity instruction to the pupils. 3.Teacher give a “mahjong” paper to each of the group. 4.Teacher ask the pupils to create a new invention. 5.Teacher ask the pupils to explain their new invention 1.Pupils are divided into four groups. 2.Pupils receive an instruction from the teacher. 3. Each group will receive a “mahjong” paper. 4. Pupils need to create a new invention. 5.Pupils need to explain their invention. 6.The other pupils will listen.   1.”Mahjong” paper  2.Marker   T : I am going to divide you into 4 groups. T : I will give you a piece of “mahjong” paper and you need to create a new invention. T : After that, you need to explain about the invention. T : I will pick the group. T : What is the name of your invention? PRODUCTION STAGE (15 MINUTES) Speaking and Writing 1.Teacher distribute a worksheet to each pupil. 2.Teacher instructs pupils to complete the worksheet in 5 minutes. 1.Each pupil is given a worksheet. 2.They are given 5 minutes to complete the worksheet. 1.Worksheet T : I will give each of you a worksheet.
