Thermal Insulation & Absorption of Thermal Radiation Alguzar, Shannen Kate & Pendon, Trizia AndrheaBSCE- 1 USC- TCCollege of Engineering  Abstract This experiment is to investigate the heat transfer processes occurring in Thermal Insulation and Thermal Radiation. The removal of heat from the surface of a body can be accomplished by conduction, convection and radiation.  Introduction A.Thermal Insulation ● Is the reduction of heat transfer between objects in thermal contact or in range of radiative influence. ● It can be achieved with specially engineered methods or processes, as well as with suitable object shapes and materials.  Rationale of the Experiment This experiment is conducted to compare and test the cooling rate of the boiling water in a complete calorimeter which is properly covered and the inner vessel without lid. Significance of the Experiment The significance of thermal insulation is to comprehend how insulation works and it is used to minimize or prevent the transmission of sound and heat from one surface in the structure to the other side.
