It cannot be detected when and where it would be happened to anyone.This is mostly happened in places where people are hanging around andworking. Earthquake is understood by being a natural phenomenon caused bythe constant movements of the earth’s crustal plates and due to climate changetoo.Connectively, the Calubcub1 Elementary School conducted thesimultaneous School-Based Earthquake Drill on June, 2016. Pursuant to theDivision Memorandum which was uploaded last June 21, 2016, “PAGYANIG” 2 nd Quarter 2016 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. The drill started with the ceremonial tapping of the bell where the pupilsfrom Kindergarten to Grade Six together with their teachers and followedstrictly the three important things during an earthquake. These were theDucking, Covering and Holding, Watching out for falling objects, and Keepingcalm and Avoiding panic. Before the actual drills, Mr. Irec L. Bernarte, schoolDRRMC Coordinator conducted an orientation during the ag ceremony. Hedisseminated the information about the occurrence of earthquake as well as theneeds to carry out a drill to enhance the pupils’ awareness on the safetymeasures before, during and after the earthquake.The drill participants were 533 pupils and 15 school personnel.The drill lasted for four minutes. No untoward incident happened duringthe drill.Mrs. Eunice S. Delacion, Principal 1, evaluate the drill. She said,“Earthquake preparedness should be taught well to the pupils and should befollowed strictly during drill.” She further said that “Earthquake drill” areimmersions and if the pupils are taught on what to do or how to act then actionsand reactions will be automatic.”Finally, it was indeed a success.
