This project has an applied nature and represents a regularly updated specialized database of the most significant economic regional integration agreements and organizations (RIAs) in force in the world. This database generated based on the results of a comprehensive analysis contains key information about 92 regional economic communities and bilateral trade agreements as well as their benchmarking by over 130 indicators. Indicators include trade flows, investments, budget, monetary and financial issues, institutional construction etc. The composition of this project variables is of interest both for economics (for example, set of macroeconomic variables and characteristics of mutual trade in the framework of RIAs, characteristics of foreign economic regime) and for international political economy (in particular institutional characteristics of RIAs). Such an approach enables to use a database for a broad range of topics and issues  –  broader than the majority of existing databases. A unique feature of this database is that it includes cooperation organizations as part of river basins (focusing on the creation of common infrastructure) and regional forums (ТncludТng “soft” ТntegratТon structures). BesТdes, tСe database Тncludes sucС new advanced forms of economic integration as Trans-Pacific Partnership, TPP, US  –  EU Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, TTIP and others. This database ena bles to compare foreТgn trade effects of “soft” assocТatТons (forums or projects aТmed at developТng common Тnfrastructure) and “standard” free trade agreements. The base takes into account all regional agreements, except for bilateral free trade agreements between two countries and between a country and the free trade agreement. Thus, the base includes, inter alia, agreements between customs unions and other countries or between two customs unions. Implementation of this study serves the purpose of performing the structural comparison of Eurasian integration experience (within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Economic Community, Customs Union and Single Economic Space) with all existing economic integration forms. Eventually, the Regional Integration Database is designed for giving an integrated picture of strengths and weaknesses of specific integration models, the elements of which it is expedient to use under the conditions of the Eurasian economic integration for raising its global sustainability and attractiveness.   5 The presented beta-version of the Regional Integration Database, as well as later versions, will be in public access on EDB web site 1 . The Centre for Integration Studies of the EDB will encourage researchers of the CIS region to use databases to solve empirical tasks and will be glad to obtain any proposals and feedback regarding the database usage. Further, it is assumed to develop and expand the database by means of new regional integration associations and parameters of their analysis. It is expected that this database will be one of the best in the class due to the maximally deep analysis of the most significant regional economic integration forms, flexibility and usage convenience. 1  Full version of the Regional Integration Database as well as all additional materials are placed on the web site of the Eurasian Development Bank: http://eabr.org/r/research/centre/projectsCII/. Any feedback and proposals for the project may be sent via E-mail of EDB Centre for Integration Studies centre@eabr.org.
