Parents currently have access to attendance and marks (report card) in English and Spanish.Additionally, teachers, who use the LAUSDMAX Gradebook, can choose whether or not to allow parents to viewassignments and grades for each of their courses. The additional seven languages will be added in the fall andthe module will be available to all LAUSDMAX enabled secondary schools who wish to use it.Additional functionality will be available when Phase 2 rolls out. Elementary schools can also give access to theFamily Module to their parents when Phase 2 rolls out to them.If any secondary schools would like to implement the Family Module now, principals can contact Norik Simonian(norire.simonian@lausd.net)for information. Electronic Attendance Certification The District is poised to implement Electronic Attendance Certification, pending an independent audit to validatethe process. We hope to have this feature available to schools by July 1.Once the audit is completed and the California Department of Education has given its approval, secondaryteachers submitting attendance with LAUSDM AX will no longer have to sign the Teacher‘s Weekly Sign -offreport, and schools will not have to print and file them. The Electronic Attendance Certification is planned forelementary schools implementing LAUSDMAX and would replace the State School Register. Please see the item on page 9, ―New Required Procedure for Generating Substitute Schedule Slips‖ with electronic attendance certification. Elementary Attendance Module Elementary multi-track schools will begin submitting attendance through LAUSDMAX at the start of their schoolyear in July. Single-track schools will begin in a phased rollout by Local District in October and November. The training model employed during Phase 1 rollout at secondary schools will be used for elementary schools. ―Jus t-in- time‖ training for multi -track schools will begin in June, and for single-track schools in September andOctober. Principals will be asked to identify School-Based Support contacts for their schools (up to 4). Theseindividuals will receive instructor-led training, and in turn, train the teachers and staff at their schools. Elementary Grades Module With the implementation of electronic attendance submission at elementary schools in Fall 2009, the GradesModule of LAUSDMAX to report marks will also be implemented. Training on this module will take place inconjunction with training on the Attendance Module. Secondary and Elementary Phase 2 The majority of the remaining LAUSDMAX modules and features will rollout to secondary schools duringFebruary and March of 2010. (See the following pages for a brief description of the different features ofLAUSDMAX.) Schools will be trained in Master Scheduling using their own data and will set up their masterschedule for Fall 2010 during a weeklong training. Training for other Phase 2 modules will be throughinstructor-led classes or web-based learning videos.Educational Options Program schools will be rolled out as features applicable to their schools become available.Once Secondary Phase 2 is complete, all elementary schools will implement the applicable features at theirschools later in 2010.  http://isis.lausd.net    Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) Newsletter   Vol 5 No 4 -4- May 2009 Descriptions of LAUSDMAX Modules and Main Features Legend:   Non-LAUSDMAX ComponentsCurrent LAUSDMAX ModulesFuture LAUSDMAX Modules (Phase 2)Additional Components Administration & Setup  This module is used to set various parameters across the system, configure codes and security levels forusers, and generally administer the application at the school level.
