STEPS OF SOLUTION
STEP 1. Draw FV & TV of initial position (parallel to one reference plane) Assumptions:
1. If in problem surface is inclined to HP
–
assume it // HP
or if surface is inclined to VP
–
assume it // to VP
2. If surface is assumed // to HP- its TV will show True Shape
and if surface is assumed // to VP
–
its FV will show True Shape
3. Hence begin with drawing TV or FV as True Shape 4. While drawing this True Shape
–
if the plane rests with one side/edge/diagonal in the reference plane, make this
reference side perpendicular to xy (see drawing A on previous slide)
If the plane rests with a point/vertex on the reference plane, make this the leftmost
point of the surface
STEP 2. With the reference side/vertex fixed as pivot, rotate the surface to make it inclined to the respective reference plane
(see drawing B on previous
slide)
STEP 3. Rotate the previous view to make the reference side inclined and draw the final FV & TV
