Goals should be straightforward and emphasize what you want to happen. Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do. Specific is the What, Why, and How of the SMART model. WHAT are you going to do? Use action words such as direct, organize, coordinate, lead, develop, plan, build etc. WHY is this important to do at this time? What do you want to ultimately accomplish? HOW are you going to do it? (By...) Ensure the goals you set is very specific, clear and easy. Instead of setting a goal to lose weight or be healthier, set a specific goal to lose 2cm off your waistline or to walk 5 miles at an aerobically challenging pace.

  • 3. Do you have great intentions however never follow through?
  • 4. Are you easily distracted or do you become reactive to your day to day circumstances?
  • 5. Do you want to progress but just don’t know how to get there?
  • 6. Do you have lots of ideas but never really finish or start any of them?
  • 7. Then this is for you!!
  • 8. <ul><li>1: Write your goal down. For example if your goal is to lose weight. </li></ul><ul><li>“ I need to lose weight” or “I will lose a few pounds” is not a goal!! </li></ul>
  • 9. <ul><li>The following is; </li></ul><ul><li>“ It is December 3rd 2009 I am ecstatically happy!! I look in the mirror and I love what I see! I am now in my living room with my family and 4 of my closest friends. I am about to step on the scales. I step onto the scales…. I weigh 185lbs!!! Yes!!!! Which is 35lbs less than I weighed on October 1st 2009!!? Everyone is praising me for my effort and commitment. My clothes look great on me and my confidence is at an all time high. My spouse can not keep his hands off of me. Life is as it should be. Now I am going to reward myself by spending $500.000 on new clothes”. </li></ul>
  • 10. <ul><li>2: Break it down so you have mini goals ( the goal broken down into tangible daily activities ) </li></ul><ul><li>find out what the components of the goal are. { Finance. Support. Skill. Time } </li></ul>
  • 11. <ul><li>3: Uncover up- front what the obstacles are going to be. </li></ul><ul><li>{ Confidence. Time. Money. Support. Skill } </li></ul>
  • 12. <ul><li>4: Make sure you have your written out goal on your person and make sure you read it 5 times per day. </li></ul>
  • 13. <ul><li>5: Make yourself weekly accountable to some one. </li></ul><ul><li>Report in on your mini goals. </li></ul>
  • 14. <ul><li>6: Write it today and do a mini goal today!!! </li></ul><ul><li>Stop Procrastinating!!! </li></ul>
