It is concluded that the social niches are the most suitable areas for the ar-ticulation of the new groups, and in this regard, the fragmentation, in the context of the Syrians in our country, has entered into an integration pro-cess. Especially when considering the prolonged residence period of Syrian immigrants, which are considered as “guests” in the beginning, there is still no collective counterattack or xenophobia even though there are some discomforts in the society. It is also not possible to say that there is a con-ciliatory attitude towards the integration of these groups into the social niches for the sake of living together or socio-cultural integration in terms of Turkish society. It would therefore not be wrong to say that perhaps it is a reactionary relation between the provision of “conditional refugee” and “secondary protection status” established by the state while maintaining a distance from the “refugee” and providing the necessary help and general social attitude. Keywords: Immigration, Immıgrant, Refugee, Asylum Seeker, Syrians, Legal Status, Social Integration Foreign Language Oriented 5th Grade English Curriculum: Some Suggestions  Abdullah Coşkun In the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year, the National Ministry of Education in Turkey initiated a project to implement the foreign language oriented 5 th  grade English curriculum in secondary schools in Turkey. To pilot the  project, 620 schools in 81 cities were chosen as the pilot schools, and 5 th  graders were provided with 15-hours of English instruction in addition to other mainstream courses. After summarizing the theoretical background of the curriculum, this paper aims to analyze the objectives, assessment tools, materials and teaching methods specied in the curriculum in line with the relevant literature. At the end of the paper, a comprehensive program evaluation study including 5 th  grade students, their parents and English teachers is suggested. It is argued that program evaluation studies in the context of foreign language oriented 5 th  grade English curriculum in Turkey will contribute to the success of the curriculum in the coming years.
