Fabulous Kindergarten Parade:  Our kindergarteners finished their alphabet learning series and paraded the school today throughout the rooms! We will be inviting our parents to come to PE class with their child Tuesday 9/24  –   Friday 9/27 th  to celebrate National Parents in PE Week.  Parents only, no older or younger siblings please.  Grading News:  We grade on semester calendar but each semester has the mid-way grading point; the quarter (like secondary school). There are 3 weeks left until the end of first quarter . You can expect a progress report to be coming home for signature. Please check your child’s progress weekly on Infinite Campus.   Absenteeism counts for 10 points on our state rating and we have started highlighting your child’s attendance absences.   If a student is absent 10% of their days enrolled in our school the state counts that student as “chronically absent” and we lose points for that. 10% can add up very quickly and the state counts 3 tardies as one absence when calculating our Absenteeism Rates. PTA News:   Miler’s reminders…the gates for Milers do not open until 8:30 am, please don’t drop off your student(s) prior to that time. Parents who are joining your student walkers or  joggers…  you must stay on the field with them until the bell rings at 8:55 am. Students (even with their parent) cannot be playing on the playground  before the morning recess bell nor can you stand at their line- up dot during Miler’s time (8:30 -8:55am). It will be available on our website, Class Dojo, and ParentLink. September is the last week for hard copies being printed. There will be a small amount of hard copies available in the front office. Did you know?  Throughout the week students turn in funny jokes to the front office and we read them during our Friday announcements! During announcements we read the student’s name and what classroom they are in and then read their joke over the intercom system. We have pretty funny kids! Everyone needs more laughter and after a long week of studying hard a little bit of laughter makes Fridays even better!   Calling All Parents!  We need 3 parents to serve as members of our School Organizational Team! If you are interested in having your name on the ballot, voting takes place at the October PTA meeting in the Library at 6 pm, please email me directly to add your name to the ballot.
