  Job Title: Mgr Field Operations  Job ID: 3791  Location: Cipero Work Centre  Full/Part Time: Full-Time  Regular/Temporary: Regular    Return to Previous Page   Who May Apply   Suitable qualified employees are invited to submit applications to fill the captioned position.   Job Summary   To lead the Field Operations Section in the effective maintenance of all network infrastructure to ensure that the reliability of the services to customers is maintained as per established standards and industry best practices thereby meeting the respective key performance indicators (KPI's), service level agreements (SLA's), legal requirements and key quality indices (KQI's) to ensure an always on Network, which results in a superior quality of experience (QOE)/customer experience.   Key Results Area   To execute preventative and strategic maintenance of network infrastructure and solutions in alignment with agreed standards/metrics and industry best practices to meet the expected performance levels. To restore expected performance levels, as per design, by execution of the resolution of faults which impact on solutions, network and support infrastructure in alignment with agreed standards/metrics and industry best practices. To administer and review the Sections' CAPEX/OPEX budget; manage the Field Operations Section. To adhere to international carrier partners and consortium ownership agreements by leading staff in the performance of maintenance of international systems facilities. To manage vendor and contractor performance by displaying accountability for tracking, monitoring and reporting on same. To manage and monitor nodal and tool life-cycle management for both hardware and software. To conform to OSHA regulations by the provision and maintenance of a safe work environment and work practices. To check and validate compliance with Regulatory standards of the network (TATT). To effectively manage the processes to be engaged by staff, HR/IR and the recognized majority union to address issues. To participate and work with the management team to review the processes/procedures for the continual development and implementation of Service Assurance processes, procedures and metrics within the department that is in alignment with company policies, vision and mission. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Senior Manager from time to time.   Education/Experience/Training   Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or its equivalent. Five (5) years' experience in: - Transmission network technologies (e.g. MPLS, DWDM), basic fibre/radio - Core switching technologies (e.g. circuit/packet core, SS7, SIP) - Networking technologies (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, etc) - Wireless network systems technologies - Access network technologies (e.g. WTTx, FTTx, etc.)   Proficient in Microsoft Office   TSTT Competencies   Telecommunications Network Infrastructure: Good understanding of network systems and associated support infrastructure policies, procedures and standards. Change Management: Solid understanding of the ITIL/eTOM Change Management Process. Records Management: Documentation of all systems in the Telecommunications Network.  Asset Management: Supports engineering regarding the life-cycle of network systems and supporting infrastructure. Project Management: Basic understanding and implementation of projects. Security: Good understanding of current international network standards. Maintenance Operations Management: Plans, schedules and executes on maintenance activities; oversees maintenance resources; coordinates and tracks equipment to minimize down time and cost. Financial Management: Manages projects and budgets for section. Emotional Intelligence: The capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others; discern between different feelings and labels them appropriately; use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior and manage and/or adjust emotions to adapt to environments or achieve goals.  Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to compliment data; designs work flows and procedures. Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well within group problem solving situations. Design: Generates creative solutions; translates concept and information into images; uses feedback to modify designs; applies design principles; demonstrates attention to details. Innovation: Displays srcinal thinking and creativity; meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas; presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention.  Adaptability:  Adapts to changes in the work environment; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent changes; delays or unexpected events. Organization Awareness: Demonstrates a comprehensive awareness of TSTT's overall direction and goals and understanding the operations of formal and informal networks within the organization. Team Leadership: Works cooperatively with others to accomplish team and organizational objectives; flexible in times of changing situations and dynamic working environment. Communication Skills:  Ability to effectively transmit information accurately and understandably and actively gives and receives constructive feedback; positive attitude. Self-Management:  Ability to manage and continually improve one's own performance in keeping with the Company's vision, mission and core values.
