EF-6-130 ELECTRICAL ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM EF-6-1 ELECTRICAL ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM  This section describes the inspection and service procedures for the ‘‘electronic governor system’’, which is acontrol system for the PF6TB engine.This section contains the system’s main control functions, additional functions, and structure and operation ofeach unit in the system.This section also contains the action to be taken at the time of an abnormal status or diagnosis, and fortroubleshooting.Basic procedures for inspections and services are described under ‘‘BASIC OPERATION’’. Control of the fuel feed rate and injectiontimingisaccomplishedbyavariable,fuel-feedrate,fuelinjectionpump.Thefuelinjectionpumpcontrolsplungersleeve movement electronically. The system design makes clean exhaust gases compatible with high dieselpower output. This system is provided with additional functions to control the exhaust brake system and VNT(variable nozzle turbocharger) system: HD — TICSCode Timing & Injection rate Control System The HD-TICS system consists of a control unit, pre-stroke actuator, sensors, switches, lamps and electricalwiring which connect these parts. The pre-stroke actuator is operated by a signal sent from the control unit.Sensors come in four types — the pre-stroke sensor, rack position sensor, engine speed sensor and enginecoolant temperature sensor. These four sensors sense the operating condition of various engine units/parts,sending their respective signals to the control unit.
