Ladies and Gentleman, Good afternoon! I’m Jiselle Dimaala De Castro, 20 years old. I’m from Brgy. Manggahan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas. I am the third in our four siblings. My parents are are Porferio G. de Castro and Myra D. de Castro. We have a sari-sari store near La Virginia resort and two tricycles and that’s where we get our incomes. I did my schooling at Santol-Manggahan Elementary School, Bayorbor National High school and St. Augustine School of Nursing in senior high school. Now, I am taking a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English here in Batangas College of Arts and Sciences. I am also an SK councilor in our barangay, this will be my last term and I am not planning to run anymore. However, I am really honored and it is really a privileged to be in the politics and somewhat I understand what it feels like to be this field. I’m interested in fashion, I love to collect dresses, clothes, and bags. I’m also interested in season movies and episode movies.  As you all know, I am just from an average family and I can say that I am lucky enough to have this privileged life. Even though I don’t have any expensive things or I cannot buy the latest gadgets but the fact that I have my family who can accept and understand me and having no differences in my body are enough for me to live in this privileged life. But living in this world is not easy, there are always ups and downs and all you have to do is to keep fighting and be strong. Let me share you about what has been through in my life in the past years. This is the biggest impact that really changed my life. At the age of 17, I lost my mother. That time God really tests my faith. I don’t know what to do. Many questions are running on my mind like what will happen to me in the coming years without a mother, what it has to be my mother and why it was so early that God took her from us. That time I realized that we should cherish every moment that we had to the important people in our life because we never know what will happen tomorrow or in the other day. Because now, I’m really having regrets, pain, and guilt that how I wish I can still go back in time wherein I can correct all the wrongdoings that I have done with her. But that’s life a nd as what on the song says that “there are always a rainbow after the rain”, that there are still things that I should be thankful for and be happy for. This challenged that I had in my life makes me become stronger and better. Moving on the present, well what I will do now is to focus on my ambition and that is becoming a teacher. At f  irst, I don’t see myself teaching because honestly teaching was not my first choice. But since I am now taking this course little by little I embraced it. And it was a satisfying feeling to know that you help someone and it fuels more my passion and dedication for being a teacher because I think I understand now what it feels to be a teacher. I want to be successful someday so that I can pay all the hard works and sacrifices of my father for me.  And as I end my speech I will leave an inspirational quote to everyone “ Give your dreams wings to fly, you have everything you need, you just have to believe. ”  And I will use this as my mantra in life. It may be hard now and a lot of breakdowns may come in  but the best thing to do is to keep on fighting and dreaming. And whatever happens, I will push through with my dreams of becoming a teacher. Thank you.
