In this catalogue we present the cluster of INTSOK part-ners that provide products and services towards topsides in general, as well as for the various types of floating support structures. This catalogue is relevant for: ã Oil companies ã Engineering and EPC Conracorsã Major shipyardsã Rig/ship owners TOPSIDES Generally topsides comprises of production systems, supporting systems and accommodation for personnel. Its content is derived from the services it delivers in exploit-ing an oil and/or gas field. E.g. separate oil, gas and water, deliver power and other utilities or house personnel. Is suppor srucure; i.e. Jacke, GBS, SEMI, TLP, SPARs or a floaing (monohull) vessels, is designed o suppor he opsides in he marine environmen and in some cases provide sorage o he produced liquids. In he early years o offshore developmens, jackes were nor-mally used o suppor he opsides – and in Norway he GBS (Graviy Based concree Srucure) was invened and exensively used. However or waer dephs exceed-ing 150-200 meers, floaing soluions are superior o fixed insallaions. FLOATING SUPPORT STRUCTURES Floaing suppor srucures have been deployed in a number o specific offshore services o find, develop and produce oil & gas, examples are mobile drilling rigs, service vessels and oil producion plaorms. While he FPSO has been he preerred floaing producion soluion in mos o he world, oher soluions have been applied in he US GoM, paricularly SEMIs , Tension Leg Plaorms (TLPs) and SPAR. THE SEMI󰀭SUBMERSIBLE. ã The  SEMI is a specialized vessel wih good sabiliy and sea keeping characerisics. I is commonly used in a number o specific offshore roles such as or off-shore drilling rigs, oil producion plaorms and heavy li cranes. I can be dynamically posiioned or spread moored. The semi-submersible obains is buoyancy rom ponoons locaed below sea level. Srucural columns connec he ponoons and operaing deck, which can be locaed high above he sea level and waves due o he good sabiliy o he concep. THE TENSION󰀭LEG PLATFORM. ã The  TLP  is a verically moored floaing srucure used or oil & gas producion in waer dephs normally greaer han 300 meers. The plaorm is permanenly moored by means o groups o ehers (i.e. ension legs) a each o he srucure’s corners. The ension leg design eliminaes verical moion o he plaorm, allowing he plaorm o have dry X-mas rees on deck, conneced direcly o he subsea wells by rigid risers. This allows a simpler well compleion and easier access or well inervenion.ã The  “SPAR” plaorm is a deep-dra floaing caisson, which is a hollow cylindrical srucure similar o a very large buoy. The spar relies on a radiional spread mooring sysem, o mainain is posiion. The SPAR design is now being used or drilling and producion. The disinguishing eaure o a spar is is deep-dra hull, which produces very avorable moion charac-erisics compared o oher floaing conceps. Low moions and a proeced cenre-well also provide an excellen configuraion or deepwaer operaions. THE FLOATING PRODUCTION, STORAGE AND OFFLOADING UNIT. The FPSO  is he dominan ype o FPU and consiued around 70% o he FPU marke in 2010. The FPSO is a floaing vessel designed o receive hydrocarbons pro-duced rom nearby plaorms or subsea emplaes, sepa- rae he oil and gas and waer, and sore he oil unil i can be offloaded ono a anker. The FPSOs are paricularly effecive in remoe or deepwaer locaions where subsea pipelines are no cos effecive. In harsh environmens he risers are conneced o he vessel, hrough a urre, which allows he vessel o weaher-wane. Alernaively, in benign environmens like Wes Arica he FPSO can be spread moored and risers conneced o he vessel a he side. FPSOs have hisorically been consruced by con-vering anker vessels or oil producion purposes, bu in recen years here has been a shi owards purpose buil FPSOs designed or given field parameers. FPSO’S FOR LIQUEFACTION OF NATURAL GAS. These are called  FLNG and here are currenly several FLNG projecs in execuion. To menion a ew: Malaysia has he PETRONAS’ Kanowi FLNG projec and Ausralia has Shell’s Prelude FLNG projec.
