Standard Stock and‘Specials’ This catalogue is intended to providean overview of the product rangetogether with the essential basictechnical information. Please notethat the sizes shown for eachproduct are those most widely usedand that many more options areavailable from Aalco ’ s 10,000 itemstandard stock range. Aalco also hold a signi fi cant range ofnon-standard products as well asspecial items for particular industriesand individual customers. In factaround 40% of the stock at individualbranches falls into this category. Processing Services Processed metals save time andmoney so many customers have a need for cutting services.Understanding this, Aalco iscommitted to providing an effectiveresponse and has thus made majorinvestments in a wide range ofadvanced processing equipment atboth local branches and centralfacilities. Most branches have on-sitebar sawing, protective PVC coatingof sheet and a guillotine. Centralfacilities include plate saws,polishing of sheet & coil and plasmapro fi ling as well as coil processingspanning decoiling, levelling, slittingand blanking. In addition, Aalcoregularly arranges other services forcustomers on a sub-contract basis.Aalco has developed particularspecialities in four key areas: Bar, tube and pipe cutting For bar, capacity is available toaccurately cut anything from a single16 /406mm diameter billet to highvolume repetitionblanking. Fortubular productsthere is anequally fl exiblerange of facilities.This meansreliable deliveriesof cut piecesacross the wholeproduct range. Plate processing Aalco ’ s plate processing facilitiesprovide a unique range of possibilitiesfor cutting stainless steel, aluminium,copper, brass, bronze and nickel alloyplate that is unmatched in the UK. Plate saws handle 4000mm lengthsin thicknesses up to 155mm. Plasmacutting on air or submerged bedsprovides blanks up to 130mm thick,2000mm wide, 4000mm long. Bandsaws cut circles 100mm thick up to1000mm diameter. Laser cuttingprovides a clean, accurate edge forthicknesses up to 50mm in 2000mmwidths and 4000mm lengths. Water Jet cutting provides intricatedetail to close tolerances forthicknesses up to 100mm in 2000mmwidth plates up to 4000mm long. Guillotining provides cut plates up to14 metres long, 12mm thick and2000mm wide. Abrasive Disc cuttingprovides a clean, smooth, square-cutedge on plates up to 75mm thick,2000mm wide, 4000mm long. Inaddition Aalco offer Plate Decoiling up to 12mm thick and 2000mm wide to provide plate blanks up to4000mm long. Coil processing Our coil processing services coverdecoiling, levelling, slitting, spoolwinding, blanking, piercing, notchingand circling as well as polishing andprotective coating. Aluminium andstainless steel in thicknesses from0.1mm to 3.0mm with widths up to2000mm are processed to closetolerances on a 22 specialist lineswithin a dedicated group facility thatis unequalled in Europe. Surface finishing A signi fi cant percentage of thestainless steel sheet used today issupplied with a polished fi nish. Aalco has extensive polishing facilitiesproviding a range of fi nishes to meetevery application. This includes a fullrange of ground fi nishes as well asthe premium OPTISHEEN ™   fi nish. The unique wet-cut OPTISHEEN ™ process produces a very consistenthigh quality surface meeting thehighest food-industry standards. Aalco supplies many other surface- fi nished products including polishedstainless steel plate, coil and tube,anodised aluminium sheet andextrusions as well as variouscoloured and/or textured coatings. Quality Aalco takes great care whenselecting manufacturing sources forits products. Every mill is subjected to careful scrutiny and must meet a schedule of quality controlrequirements. Therefore, all productssupplied by Aalco conform to therelevant BS or international standard.A certi fi cate of conformity or analysiscan be supplied on request.
