Ashley Fowler is a print/digital reporter with five years of newsroom experience in both Missouri and Southern California, tackling beats as varied as crime, state politics and the arts. Fowler handled schools, events and local government as the sole staff writer at the Signal Tribune, a community newspaper in Long Beach, California. Before that, Fowler graduated from the print/digital news program at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2012, with an emphasis on reporting. In Missouri, she worked as an enterprise beat reporter and copy editor for the Columbia Missourian daily. She was also a staff writer for Vox Magazine. Fowler interned at the Orange County Register in 2007 and was later hired as one of the paper’s youngest contributing writers.
