Micronization & fine selection of the minerals Innovatory and high-performance solutions aiming to solve issues related  to the micronization and the fine selection of the minerals, at the top of the range for reliability, easiness of assembling and maintenance.  2 AIR SEPARATORS – TYPE SEP TECHNICAL DATAType A B C D E kW SEP18 1490 1275 825Ø1800 Ø190 18.5 SEP25 1935 1490 900Ø2500 Ø220 18.5 SEP28 2780 2000 1300Ø2800 Ø290 22 SEP30 2250 1800 1050Ø3000 Ø350 22 SEP35 2620 2100 1160Ø3500 Ø360 30 SEP42 3200 2500 1350Ø4200 Ø430 45 SEP48 4000 2600 1400Ø4800 Ø450 75 SEP55 4500 3500 1450Ø5500 Ø480 200Many years of use and technology development of the traditional airseparators with internal air circulation, TYPE SEP , in their various evo-lutions, allowed us to understand profoundly the benefits but also theinsurmountable technical limits of such typology of machines andhave suggested us the points of force for a new equipment generationproject. The air separators TYPE HPS along with the micronization and auto-matic selection mills TYPE S are the result of years of trials and rese-arch. They represent the most updated synthesis of this long experien-ce gained by SIC in the field of micronized minerals production. Our air separators TYPE HPS and the micronization and automaticselection mills TYPE S cannot be considered solely machines any lon-ger. Actually they are complete production systems which consent thesimplification of the engineering and the management of the plant.Considering its consolidated technology and reliability we have, however, decided to keep the separator TYPE SEP in our productionline and not to abandon its use in all those projects where a selectionof great quantities of material is required with a top cut value > 90micron either in cases when a preselection is required before feedingin more sophisticated systems such as an air separator HPSTYPE ora mill TYPE S . Power RAW MATERIALINLETREJECTSFINEPRODUCTOUTLET  3 AIR SEPARATORS – TYPE HPS Utilization benefits ãStability of the granulometric quality of the finished product even inpresence of irregular feeding product both granulometry- and quan- tity-wise.ãDeflocculating effect of the feeding product which allows to reduce to the smallest the content of fines inside the rejected material evenif agglomerated.ãCapability to select products with a top cut (d 97 ) < 10 micron.ãPossibility to alter continually the quality of the finished productwithout mechanical operation and/or subdue to chromatic sensors the top cut set value.ãSimplicity of installation even in existent plants.ãSelf-feeding option - drawing the selection material within a distan-ce of 25 m away from the selection unit and/or restore the fineselected product to a distance exceeding 20 m.ãLack of dust.ãHigh energy efficiency. Principle of operation The air separators HPS , in their basic configuration, consist of aselection unit, a bag filter for the collection of the selected materialand a high efficiency centrifugal fan which generates a current of airwhich is necessary for the system functioning. The particle of the material for selection is subdued to two types of force so that it can cross the selection frame: the centripetal force generated by theair current which crosses the selection frame and the centrifugal forcegenerated by the rotation of the frame.
