Republic of the Philippines Province of Iloilo Municipality of Dingle --------------------------------- Dingle Municipal Health Office CHT MANAGEMENT TEAM MEETING (MAY 29, 2014) 1.   ROLL CALL 2.   BUSINESS OF THE DAY A.   Accomplishments 2013 B.   Introduction of NDP Nurses C.   Issues and concerns D.   CHT roles and responsibilities 3.   Others matters 4.   Adjournment Last May 29, 2014, the CHT Management Team held its very first meeting. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Juanita Propitiado at exactly 2:45 in the afternoon. The agenda were, accomplishment reports of year 2013, orientation of CHT Management Team and their roles and responsibilities, and introduction of NDPs assigned in Dingle and their issues and concerns regarding their assignments and other matters. Mrs. Jean Tondo Nurse II, reported about the municipality not being able to reach its target on family planning thus acquiring a red mark on the municipality’s score card. Mr. Romeo Librando, asked about the criteria on how to identify the target. Mrs. Tondo answered that the basis according to PHO is on the projected target and not on the actual target. Mr. Librando said that if that is the basis we will be unable to reach it compared to the actual target. He suggested that the target should be based on the actual number. Mrs. Marella Rodillado Nurse II reported regarding child immunization. She also has the same problem of not reaching the target because of the same reason. Mr. Jimmy Quicoy poined out that these targets set by th e PHO is just for “pampa pogi” purposes so that they can acquire additional funding from the national budget. According to him the province and the CHP reports are always in conflict. He suggested that target should only be based on actual numbers. Mr. Gene Famucol reported that the municipality also received a red mark on its number of households with access to safe water. Most households opt to buy from water refilling stations instead of chlorinating water from their deep wells. As to toilet facilities most households do not have sanitary toilet facilities. Mr. Librando interrupted and asked that are there still many households that do not have toilets and why did the SI not requested for additional toilets to be distributed to these households. Mr. Famucol answered that he did not requested for toilet bowls because as long as the toilet is covered and is free from flies it is considered sanitary. Muelia Joy Lapurga, focal person of CHT argued that for a toilet to be considered sanitary it should be water sealed. Mr. Quicoy asked if the CHT fund can be used to buy toilet bowls and chlorine to be distributed among households. Muelia Joy Lapurga said that the funding cannot be used to purchase equipment and other stuff. The fund is exclusive for the honoraria of the CHT survey teams and the office supplies that they need. The last red mark regarding the Botika sa Barangay program was presented by Mrs. Rodillado. She asked if the municipality agrees to set up Botika sa Barangay in every barangay. But she also said that she is against this because the funding is easily lost because of mismanagement. Mr. Quicoy suggested to give it to Sari sari store owners provided they be given incentives. Next agenda tackled was the introduction of NDP nurses and their common issues and concerns that were mostly about duplication  of members’ names and incorrect spellings and data on PhilHealth  cards, delay and securing MDRs, some members not found and wrong declaration of dependents. Mrs. Josephine Cortez, DSWD head suggested that they go to Mrs. Sobrevega for verification of data or go to PhilHealth office for correction. Mr. Librando told the NDPs that they continue doing their job so that they can cover all barangays in time. The last agenda tackled was the orientation about CHT. MJ, the focal person of CHT, discussed what CHT is all about. He said that the main purpose of CHT is to monitor members under CHT regarding their health status. Management of CHT funding was given to the municipality according to CHT standards. He said that there is a new funding to be released to the municipality. But the funding cannot be released unless the municipality submits a funding utilization report on its previous fund given by the CHT. And lastly MJ asked for the LGU’s assistance whenever  CHT calls for any. Other matters discussed were Mr. Librando’s suggestion of a monthly report regarding CHT’s progress. Meeting was adjourned at exactly 5:10 in the afternoon. Prepared by: Ma. Lina D. Valencia CHT Management Team  –  Secretary Approved by: Dr. Juanita D. Propitiado Co- Chairman CHT Management Team
