October 7, 2014 Mungu received a gift….    A BIG gift. As a matter of fact, it was in the works even before we arrived, and Rob shares a BIG story about God at work…    A HUGE thanks to Christian Life Center in Dayton, OH for their  gift of “Hope Boxes” which hold the precious gift of nutrient dense meals packed specifically for an undernourished population. Each box contains 36 packs and each pack serves 6 people. We received 1,400 boxes via container…that would be 302,400 servings!    The story continues… Rob tells it best. It is a good   God  #  thing that the sermon at church the previous Sunday was on praying specific prayers!   On the day the truck rolled into town, Rob had some expectations. He expected that the semi truck would be a flat $ bed with the container sitting on top. He had all his chains and a jack ready.  The basic plan was to just slide the container o %   the flat $ bed into 1  Taylor Ministry Update   “The kind of fasting I want is this: Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and  let the oppressed go  !  ee.” ~Isaiah 58:6   October 7, 2014 the place that had already been prepared. It didn’t take very long on the phone with the truck driver to realize that this driver coming from Tanzania didn’t speak English, nor did he speak any of the local Zambian languages. This Swahili $ speaking guy needed direction and there was no one to help. To make matters more di & cult, the truck that arrived was not what Rob expected. This truck was newer and the container was essentially “locked” onto the trailer. No sliding this thing o %  . This was one of those times  where you realize there is nothing you can do in your own power.   Rob prayed. He prayed that specific prayer that we heard about in church.. “Lord, only You can do this. We can’t speak Swahili and  we can’t slide this container o %  . Lord help.”   In the same moment that Rob and the driver were trying to negotiate the language barriers, a pastor friend of Rob is the very next person to drive up. He happened to be driving his 20 ton dump truck. Rob greets him and mentions his problem…believe it or not, Pastor Zimba speaks Swahili! Yep, it was an absolute answer to prayer. With the help of Pastor Zimba, Rob was able to give direction, and  with the assistance of the dump truck they were able to set the container on poles and unload. I am not even going to try and describe that here. You need to see this one for yourself because quite honestly, it is unbelievable. There are still many “little” things to do before we can say it is complete, but the Sitali Family will be undercover for the rains. Just in the nick of time! Even as I  write, black, thick, storm clouds are forming…rain is on the way.  A big huge thanks to all of you who contributed to this needed project!   ãWafuka is safely home after 3 weeks traveling across the U.S. I am sure many of you reading this even had the opportunity to 2 ICBC   Building Community, Building Hope  October 7, 2014 say hello. Thanks to all for your hospitality. With many new friends and opportunities to share about the ministry, Wafuka counts his trip a success.   ãPreschool is coming along. I have a plan in place for training teachers and we are now  getting word out that the preschool is coming. Believe me, it is really fun to hear about the excitement brewing in the community over a new school. We do need to purchase supplies, if this is something you are interested in, please let us know!   ãWe are looking for partners. If you are drawn to what this ministry is doing in Zambia and you are not contributing financially, will you please consider doing so now?   Prayers and Praises…   ãWe both really want to learn the language. Pray for the right language helper and the diligence to do what it takes to learn.   ãOpening a preschool is not a small task. Pray for the stamina and insight to do the job well.   ãWith the oncoming rainy season we get cooler weather   thank  goodness  #  but it can also impede the construction process. Pray for the continuing building projects.   ãWe have continued to meet more people in the Mungu community. Pray for good relationships and deepening friendships.   ãPraises for the boys at school and Rachael at home. Everyone is doing very well and adjusting to their new environments. Excellent marks at school…way to go!   ãJoin us in thankfulness for a God who answers specific prayers.   3 Looking forward to having this little one in preschool. She is enjoying the book upside down. It’s a start!
