  6.0 PROCEDURES 1. Prepare sample of fine aggregate 2. Obtain 500g of sample from quartering process 3. Place the aggregate sample in mechanical shaker which arranged according to size.  4. Sieve the sample by using mechanical shaker for 5minute. 5. Weight the aggregate retained for each sieve plate size and properly record the data.  Conclusion The sieves used to separate both fine and coarse aggregates into different particle sizes. The number sieves describe the size aggregates fall through it. After the materials has been sieved, each tray removed, weight each size and record each weight to the nearest 0.1 g. The determination of fineness modulus of coarse aggregates is to find fineness modulus we need to perform sieve analysis and for that above mentioned sieve sizes, mechanical shaker and digital weigh scale are required. From this experiment, we conclude that the sieve analysis is the simple and easy way to determine the particles size distribution of aggregate and this sieve analysis procedure can be used to the people working in the engineering industry.
