The soap plot involves a man finding out that he is schizophrenic. There is ascene where a doctor breaks the news and the sufferer then has to tell his family. During these scenescommon symptoms of schizophrenia are clearly and accurately described and the doctor-characterdispels common myths about schizophrenics. In a second condition 22 participants were shown anextended news broadcast about a famous serial killer who is also schizophrenic.After two weeks the participants were given a questionnaire about schizophrenia as a condition.
