Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell: Second Edition by A. Zee One Of Those Books A Person Interested In Theoretical Physics Simply Must Own!   Since it was first published, Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell has quickly established itself as the most accessible and comprehensive introduction to this profound and deeply fascinating area of theoretical physics. Now in this fully revised and expanded edition, A. Zee covers the latest advances while providing a solid conceptual foundation for students to build on, making this the most up-to-date and modern textbook on quantum field theory available. This expanded edition features several additional chapters, as well as an entirely new section describing recent developments in quantum field theory such as gravitational waves, the helicity spinor formalism, on-shell gluon scattering, recursion relations for amplitudes with complex momenta, and the hidden connection between Yang-Mills theory and Einstein gravity. Zee also provides added exercises, explanations, and examples, as well  as detailed appendices, solutions to selected exercises, and suggestions for further reading. Zee Professor Zee's Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell is a real scientific masterpiece. I bought it at the time I was a physics sophomore and that was the best choice I could have made. It was this book that triggered my interest in quantum field theory and crystallized my dreams of becoming a theoretical physicist.  A remarkable thing about QFT in a Nutshell is that it is suitable for both beginners and experts. A person who is just about to enter the mysterious area of quantum field theory finds it as an easy to follow, perfectly prepared step-by-step guide through all the key ideas, whereas someone already acquainted with the subject may derive profit from its deep and modern treatment, with every thought carefully explained by appropriate equations. This universality makes the book accessible to a larger number of readers than any other quantum field theory text I know of. The main goal of the book is to make the reader gain real intuition in the field. Professor Zee does a marvelous job in presenting the most important concepts of quantum field theory, accompanying each one with concrete and perfectly selected examples. He does it in such an amazing way that the reader never has a feeling that something is hard or not understandable. On the contrary, everything appears to be very simple. Even when in some places a bit longer calculation is necessary, it is presented in such an amusing manner that working through its details turns into real fun. What also distinguishes this book from others dealing with a similar subject is that it is written like a tale. The reader feels like having stepped into an amazing world and is slowly uncovering its beauty page by page. Professor Zee is a wonderful guide in this mysterious land of quantum field  theory and keeps his attention focused on the reader at all times, never letting him get lost nor even feel puzzled. He has the ability of explaining difficult things in simple and beautiful words. This is certainly not a book that one reads once or twice and then puts on a shelf were it gets covered with dust. Because it presents a modern approach to quantum field theory with all the concepts and ideas supported by the development of appropriate computation techniques, it is a perfect reference point at all stages of a researcher's carrier. I feel enormously fortunate to have come across this book at the beginning of my adventure with theoretical physics. I am using it also now every time I want to remind myself of a particular calculation method and I am sure I will refer to it many times in the future. It is definitely the best quantum field theory book I have ever read. For More 5 Star Customer Reviews and Lowest Price: Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell: Second Edition by A.
