  1 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Parade Protocols Deyi Secondary School  National Police Cadet Corps  2 1)   Introduction This SOP is to standardize and document the different types of parades conducted within the unit. It states clearly about the roles and responsibilities of parade participants and the procedures of a parade. The SOP also ensures there is no overlapping of duties amongst parade personnel, ensuring a smooth flow be it during planning, training or during the actual parade. 2 The contents of this SOP include: a)   Types of Parade  b)   Procedures of Parade c)   Duties and Responsibilities of Parade Personnel d)   Attachment: Annex A Parade Training Material 2)   Types Of Parade 5 A Parade is assembled for a formal inspection or a ceremonial occasion. 6 Parade held within the unit are categorized into the following: Internal Parades are held within the unit itself. Parade participants only involves cadets from the National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC). External Parades involves cadets from other Uniform Groups within the school, where hosting Uniform Group (UG) for training the parade will be on rotational  basis. Internal Parade External Parade Muster Parade Dismissal Parade Leadership Handover Parade Unit Stand Down Parade Passing Out Parade CCA Orientation Parade  National Day Parade Speech Day Parade  3 3)   Procedures of Parade - Muster Parade 7 Muster Parades should be conducted before the start of training. It signifies the start of the day  and to report strength . 8 Cadet Leaders holding the following leadership positions will form a   'Reviewing Officer Team' of the parade: Key appointment holders will be standing right in front of the parade. Recognition of key appointment holders of the unit. Responsibility. a)   Chairperson  b)   Vice Chairperson (Training) c)   Vice Chairperson (Support) d)   Head of Training Development e)   Head Training Field f)   Head of Administration (Development) 9 The Chairperson will be the Reviewing Officer (RO)  –   on rotational basis. 10 Vice Chairperson (Training), Head of Training Field will be in charge of maintaining the standard of drills of the cadets. 11 Vice Chairperson (Support), Head of Training Development and Head of Administration are to assist RO to verify if reported attendance is correct. 12 If the Chairperson is the Parade Commander, the role of RO will be passed to Vice Chairperson (Training). 13 After collating the attendance from the PC, 'RO Team' would execute a 180° clockwise turn (  Ke-Belakang Pu-sing  ) to face the CI RO to report total strength. 14 CI RO is responsible of updating the attendance of the unit strength to the rest of the CIs for follow up actions. Include CI giving out ranks 15 The parade will then proceed with the recitation of the NPCC pledge. 16 Promotion of cadets will be done during muster parade itself. While giving out of  badges and certificates can be done during individual squad time unless it is the giving out of pinnacle badges to deserving cadets (E.g. Best Unit Cadet and SPF-NPCC Badge). 17 Parade should end off with fall out (  Keluar Baris ).  4 4)   Procedures of Parade - Dismissal Parade 18 Dismissal Parades should be conducted at the end of the day, to dismiss the cadets as a whole instead of dismissing the cadets squad by squad. This promotes a sense of  pride amongst the cadets. 19 Dismissal Parades will be conducted by CIs. 20 There will be no giving out of badges or promotion of cadets during the parade. 21 PC to ask for permission to dismiss the parade from the CI RO. Once permission is granted, PC to carry out dismissal (Bersurai). 5)   Procedures of Parade - Leadership Handover Parade 22 The Leadership Handover Parade signifies the Outing batch of Senior Cadet Leaders (SCLs) handing over their roles and responsibilities to the Incoming batch of Cadet Leaders (CLs). 23  This parade is to be conductor with the presence of an Officer. 24 The following are the items that signifies the handing over of different responsibilities: Role / Position Item Chairperson NPCC Flag Vice Chairperson (Training) Drill Cane Vice Chairperson (Support) UOPA File Head Training Development Training Syllabus File Head Training Field Lesson Plan File Head Logistics Logistics Book Head Administration (Development) Attendance Book Head Administration (Infocomm) Corporate Video CD Head of Squads Individual Squad Files
