  ã IPC appeals to a wide range of target audiences. The first magazine specific to a target audience was released in November of 1911. ‘Woman’s Weekly’ targeted at women, due to the magazine being within the mature women weekly magazine sector. ã That same year IPC published ‘Golf monthly’ that is targeted specifically to males. So within a year they had magazines published both specific to one gender. From then more specific genre magazines were released like sport magazines and house magazines. ã In 1980’s IPC announced the formation of European magazines ltd  joint venture company with the well- established magazine; Marie Claire to launch a UK edition of the international title. Marie Claire UK reaches more women than any other UK fashion magazine brand.
