Mr Watson informs me this is the 5th year the school is celebrating World Kindness Week with special assemblies and presentations. South Grafton holds a special place in my heart as a school which genuinely has embraced this campaign to make a difference from our classrooms to our staffrooms and within our corridors of government. When I saw the school proudly receive its certificate of membership to World Kindness Australia from Her Excellency Dame Marie Bashir Governor of NSW in Government House only two years ago, it was testament to the difference Kindness can make. I wish I could be there this year to share and participate in your activities and hear your stories, however I am giving the closing keynote presentation at the International World Museum Conference representing 40 nations on “How Your Organisation Can Become An Agent For Positive Change.”  I think the students of South Grafton could no doubt be a perfect example of this. I have included the letters we received from Her Excellency Marie Bashir, Governor NSW, The Hon Mike Baird, The Premier of NSW and Cr Clover Moore, The Lord Mayor of Sydney, which students may like to present at the Assembly and forward to the Mayor of Grafton. I also included “ A Call To Action ”  address which goes out to citizens of all nations and was inspired by a young school girl, Malala from Pakistan who received the Nobel Peace Prize this year and demonstrates The Courage of Kindness. Thank you so much again South Grafton and my very best to the entire School Community in celebrating World Kindness Week 2014.
