  • 1. Startup! A Local Living Economy Business School Let’s Make Something New!

Why? <ul><li>To start businesses that contribute to a livable planet; </li></ul><ul><li>To find business models that can become catalysts for a local living economy in our community; </li></ul><ul><li>To share resources among people that enjoy teaching, facilities, promotion and technical assistance; </li></ul><ul><li>To access our collective community intelligence. </li></ul>

How? <ul><li>By offering affordable, convenient and high quality learning opportunities that include a network of support; </li></ul><ul><li>Provide entrepreneurs the means to analyze their business idea and find ways to implement them in a supportive environment; </li></ul><ul><li>Startup! Is organized as worker owned cooperative, which means the instructors own the school and are invested in the students interests. </li></ul>
  • 4. What? <ul><li>Any adult can enroll at our school, regardless of their level of education; </li></ul><ul><li>Our areas of learning are; green business, community health business, social enterprise and low-cost small business computer systems (open source); </li></ul><ul><li>Course formats include; webinars, weekly seminars or workshops, one-day classes and mini-conferences on specific topics and regularly scheduled classes. Prices range from $25 to $500 per class. </li></ul>
  • 5. Where? <ul><li>We currently have three possible locations where the school could be located, however, co-op members and finances will dictate that decision; </li></ul><ul><li>We expect to offer some courses on-line and at various community locations. </li></ul>
  • 6. When? <ul><li>We expect to launch our first set of courses in October 09; </li></ul><ul><li>We are currently looking for teaching proposals, co-op members and volunteer instructors; </li></ul><ul><li>If you want to become student please complete our student survey. </li></ul>
