    Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Monday OBJ: Understand the importance of laws in our community with 80% acc. Standard - 5.1.7.A PROCEDURE: Students will view a video on how a bill becomes a law. 1.   Discuss laws that are in our school to keep us safe. 2. Discuss classroom rules that have been put in place to keep students safe. 3. Report and highlight the main portions of their groups discussion. MATERIALS:YouTube videos, Teachers checklist EVALUATION: Exit Ticket OBJ: Able to list the ideals that shape local gov. with 80% acc. Standard - 5.1.7.B  PROCEDURE: Students will view a P.P. 1. Write out on separate pieces of construction paper the different levels of gov. 2. Talk about what each level of gov. does. 3. Write down 3 words to describe each branch of gov. MATERIALS: Construction paper, pencil, markers, crayons. EVALUATION: Words written down. OBJ: Understand the ratios involved in gov. with 80% acc. Standard - CC.2.1.7.D.1  PROCEDURE: View P.P. 1.   In groups students will complete the gov. ratio worksheet. 2.    As a class we will review the problems 3. Vote on bills and we will come up with the ratios for the votes. MATERIALS: computer, PowerPoint, EVALUATION: Their Bill Tuesday OBJ: Understand the importance of laws in our community with 80% acc. Standard - 5.1.7.A PROCEDURE: Give a large sheet of paper to create a g.o. 1. Work in their groups to define what property is. 2.   Come up with ex. of what property is. 3. The students will then draw a picture to represent property. 4. Write synonyms in the last section of the g.o. 5. Share one of the sections on their g.o. with the class. MATERIALS: g.o., crayons, markers. EVALUATION: Chain Notes   OBJ: Able to list the ideals that shape local gov. with 80% acc. Standard - 5.1.7.B  PROCEDURE: Students will create a skit that incorporates each branch of gov. 1.Create a skit that demonstrates knowledge of branches of gov. 2.Each student must be active member of the project. 3.
