  Critical on An Article “ Using Facebook in EFL Writing Class: Its Effectiveness from Students’ Perspective  by Rahma Fitriani ”  Critized by Dhara Amalia Tanjung State Islamic University of North Sumatera INTRODUCTION The use of social media today is said to be very influential. both in the fields of education, health, social and others. One of the most affected by social media is in the field of education, especially during the learning process. This has an influence on the process, on the teacher and the biggest influence on the students. Influence in social media certainly has an influence or impact on its users. Whether it's on the effect of good or bad. The use of social media for students is now very addicted to this activity. Even they can be like in their own nature when playing social media. Various social media which is now very easy to access, anytime and anywhere. In this writing I myself will criticize an article which from the beginning I was interested in the title because this is a problem that is very up to date to be discussed. And I will vent my criticisms and opinions regarding those related in this text. SUMMARY Developments that occur in the world today are very influential for the lives of many  people. No more very impactful for educators and students. Which develops requires educators to take part in turning the brain long so that they can take advantage of sophisticated technological facilities in the learning process that is also increasingly advanced with new technology. As Prensky (2011) says that currently learning in education is said that students are digital natives and a teacher is a digital immigrant. From this it follows that the current generation of children is indeed born with a variety of new technological sophistication. And therefore a teacher must not be left behind by his students. And this is where a teacher must be able to also master the technology. One of which currently supports the learning process with advanced technology is to use mobile or what we can call a mobile phone. Which is very easy  for everything. And also allows students and teachers to carry out teaching and learning activities anywhere and anytime. not only by using a mobile phone, now many applications that make it easier for someone to communicate well at great distances though. like Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and many others. however, Facebook usage is still the highest usage, both abroad and in Indonesia itself. no doubt even today Facebook users are widespread in various places and ages. even students in Indonesia can be said to be very obsessed with Facebook. They feel more free when they convey their ideas in a post on their Facebook status. and this is what underlies a teacher must be able to rack his brain to be able to take advantage of Facebook applications as a means of student learning in writing. CRITICISM I will try to give a critique of this article whose title is Using Facebook in EFL Writing Class: Its Effectiveness from Students’ Perspective.  I personally feel half half in this opinion. I 50% agree and 50% disagree. I agree with this article because indeed when we use social media, especially here on Facebook, we will feel free to appreciate the ideas we have. And whenever that idea is crossed we can immediately overflow it in the form of status writing. Indeed increase self-confidence in writing a sentence in Indonesian. I personally felt that at school. And also I agree because the use of my favorite in writing learning at ELF has a big influence. Which if the writing of the students read by many people and their writing could be a benefit for others. And also if he writes correctly it may be that there are those who are interested in his writing and  become a work of nominal value. But I have a disagree side about it. First, Facebook is the most popular social media in the world. As in the article says that students’ have a positive respons toward the Facebook group as a media to improve their writing skills, particulary in vocabulary and language structure. But here I want to say that Facebook as a communication tool who everybody in the world are using for, where its contents can be dangerous or can damage the students’ minds when accidently seeing it. And the other side where I disagree with this. Especially if teachers often use technology as a learning medium, which we already know is that the use of technology or social media has an addictive effect or effect on its user. If only this done continuously, it is feared that it will cause things that make students lazy to do the activities that they should. Such as face to  face with the teacher, or students may lie and use the mobile phone as a learning tool but in fact the students’ uses it for another things that are useless.
