This module helps you to develop and enhance the qualities and transferrable skills necessary for your studies, career progression, personal and professional development. You will develop and practice the skills required to continuously extend your personal and professional capabilities throughout your life; critically reflect on learning; feedback to others and apply learning to real world complex issues within the workplace, explaining actions to take and barriers to implementation. 2.   How will this module deliver the relevant industry sector skills and competencies? Alongside the studies you will be undertaking which are directly related to personal and professional development. Tutors will relate theoretical principals to your personal and professional development enabling you to understand the impacts. This module looks at the your short, medium and long term career development, what your values are and how you make a contribution to your organization and society. We will explore the key skills required by managers and help you to produce an action plan to develop your own skills. 3.   What is the current research context that this module applies? Current research will be uploaded onto Blackboard (BB) throughout the year as this becomes available. 4.   How is internationalisation delivered and applied within the module? The Developing Personal and Professional Leadership Practice module is designed to be student centric with a personalized learning approach. Although you will all have a similar teaching and assessment experience, the individual learning will be dependent upon their personal and professional development to date and their aspirations for their life and careers. We know that the majority of the students studying the module have travelled to us from other parts of the world and desire to continue their working experience in other countries, as such we will work with you to ensure that wherever you continue your life and careers in the future you are able to develop the skills required throughout the globe.   5.   How does this module embed Principles of Responsible Management Education? Personal and professional values, ethics and responsibilities are explored as part of developing leadership skills, including the impact of your own behavior on your working life,  your peers and those individuals who may work for you in the future. 6.   How will this module be delivered? The module will be delivered over the course of your studies, including a two day residential. The focus will be on developing your personal and professional skills by using industry standard tools, observation and feedback to assess your current skills, self and prompted exploration of your career aspirations/possibilities, conducting a gap analysis and developing a development plan to achieve your short and medium term career aspirations.  1.   5   A key feature of this module is the development of a reflexive approach to leadership and management practice, which will be encouraged through student centred/flipped learning. 7.   Assessment Package This module is assessed entirely through the production of a portfolio which will contain evidence of your personal and professional leadership practice which demonstrates reflection on personal, professional and academic development over the course. Also contained within your portfolio will be evidenced gained from your Integrated Consultancy Project. The tasks you are expected to complete are explained in greater detail later in this module guide. Coursework Your deadlines for all your coursework can be accessed via Assessment Diary. Please ensure  you check this and you know when all your submission deadlines are due. Full - Time Students Sheffield Business School operates a deadline time of 3:00pm  for all coursework submissions via the Helpdesk, unless an alternative deadline time has been set by the Module Leader. If you are referred / deferred in a module, you will be expected to undertake reassessment work in order to pass that particular module. The deadline for any reassessment coursework will be in August - finalised date will be confirmed via Assessment Diary. If you are not able to submit ANY work in person to the SHIP Helpdesk you may post it to us. This must be posted by recorded delivery on the deadline date and time. You must ensure you keep proof of postage. Full details - including the correct postal address can be found in the 'Help' section of your Assessment Diary. Turnitin You may be asked as part of your assessments to submit an electronic version of your work through a system known as Turnitin. The Turnitin system will produce a report identifying any similarities between the work and existing literature or other sources and can be used to help students avoid plagiarism and assist with referencing. Your module tutor will give you guidance on how to submit work through the system and how to act upon the report produced. Please note that any Turnitin submissions will be in addition to the actual assignment submission, unless you are informed otherwise by your tutor. 8.   How will Blackboard be used with this module? Blackboard (shuspace) is an essential learning tool, all materials used in seminars and lectures will be available through the site. Additional, current, resources will also be made available by your seminar tutors and module leaders.
