  Experimental studies of Coal Oil slurry mixture Transportation of coal oil slurry in pipeline is very important phenomenon in which pumping energy required to transport slurry but all process depends on flow characteristics properties of coal oil slurry. Viscosity is major parameter in it. Therefore viscosity of coal oil slurry effected by following parameters. Coal Parameters 1.   Particle size 2.   Proximate Analysis 3.   Ultimate Analysis Oil Parameters 1.   Viscosity 2.   Moisture 3.   Gross calorific value 4.   Metal analysis 5.   Sulfur analysis 6.   Carbon residue 7.   Flash point 8.   Pour point 9.   Acidity Coal oil Slurry Parameters 1.   Density 2.   Viscosity 3.   Conradson Carbon Residue CCR 4.   GCV Coal Sample collection First of all two type of coal was taken for this studies from center of Coal Technology as per ASTM D-0000. Following coal was taken, 1.   Dara adam khail coal (sub bituminous coal) 2.   Lahkhra coal (lignite to sub bituminous coal)   Coal Sample Preparation This is very important part that both type of coal samples carefully taken and prepare for further process. Following steps are taken during sample preparation, 1.   Crushing 2.   Grinding 3.   Sieving Crushing Large pieces first treated with crushing machine to convert these large pieces into smaller one which can easily use for further process of grinding mill. All coal sample inserted from the top of crushing machine where crushing process made by a screw crusher. Crushed sample was collected from the bottom of this machine. Crushing of samples Dara Adam khail sample done in first place and then Lakhra coal crushed respectively. Both type of coal treated with same process of crushing. Grinding These Small pieces further treated with grinding mill where coal can grind properly. In this small pieces of coal insert batch wise from the top hoper of machine where slowly enter into the grinding plates. Sample collected from the bottom this machine batch wise. Grinding of samples Dara Adam khail sample done in first place and then Lakhra coal crushed accordingly. Both type of coal treated with same process of grinding. Sieving This is very important process for both type of coal. In this way Dara Adam Khail coal samples prepared first. Samples sieving was done as per ASTM D-0000. Following are sieves use for Dara Adam khail and Lakhra coal, 1.   Mesh # - 60 500 gm of each coal 2.   Mesh # - 100 1000 gm of each coal 3.   Mesh # -200 1000 gm of each coal 4.   Mesh # -300 1000 gm of each coal  Each sample of Mesh # -60 was taken for proximate analysis and ultimate analysis as well. Other samples of bot h type of coal separately collected and marked as per standard. Each sample of both type of coal (Mash # -100, -200, -300) treated separately with same type of heave fuel oil No.5 for slurry preparation. Heavy Fuel Oil sample Heavy fuel oil type No. 5 was taken from Attock Refinary Limited Pakistan. Properties of this fuel was analyzed which are under below table Attock heavy fuel selected because of very low viscosity and sulfur in their fuel and also heavy metal concentration is very low. Its HHV is very good as compared to other refineries fuels. All possible parameter of this type of fuel analyzed found good results. All fuel test conducted by following the ASTM procedures.
