  FACEBOOK’S INFLUENCE: ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA AMONG INDONESIAN MILLENNIAL STUDENTS Siti Marjannah Nasution English Department State Islamic University of North Sumatera SITI.MARJANNAH@uinsu.ac.id  Introduction In this age where every inch of the technology world has almost covered the minds of children, adolescents, adults to the elderly there is nothing that can be separated from the name of super-sophisticated technology. There are many features or applications created by technology scientists, one of which is a mobile phone that is now better known as Android. Where in every android different contents or applications that humans create. One of them is the many various social media applications in the mobile phone features. Of the many social media, there is a social media that is very popular among children, adolescents, and adults among mothers today. Here I will discuss the various influences of Facebook among students who are using the smart application. According to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerbeg there are 7.5 million children under the age of 13 who have a Facebook account and another 5 million under 10 years, thus violating the requirements of this site. So the January 2009 Compete.com study places Facebook as the most widely used social networking service according to the number of monthly active users worldwide. In Indonesia is also included as the 4th most user country in the whole world. How not Facebook is one of the most popular social media in Indonesia, while Facebook is a social media that is very easy to use by various age groups. Especially in this day and age Facebook is very easy to open in free mode. Because of the influence of many people who do not have a permanent job and solid. So that's a factor why Facebook is very popular among people in Indonesia. Every year Facebook often adds features to its site. ( Ruch i, S 2006) News Feed was launched which is placed on each  user's main page and notifies information such as profile changes, the next event, and the user's friend's birthday. Summary The advance of technology development has impacted every aspects of humans’ lives, including personal, social, and professional ones. For language teachers, this advancement has directly affected their teaching practices through its integration into their conventional teaching syllabus and material. This integration of technology in LTL is inevitable since today’s learners have different way of learning if compared to their teachers’ in the past. Prensky (2001) defined today’s learners as ‘digital natives’ while their teachers ‘digital immigrants’. He defined digital natives as the “native speakers of   the digital language of computers, video games and the Internet”  and digital immigrants as “those  who were not born into the digital world but have, at some later  point of lives, become fascinated by and adopted many or most aspects of the new technology are” .   (Prensky, 2001, p. 1-2). He furthermore explained that the digital natives tend to be less interested in participating in the conventional classroom since they can access the information faster than their teachers, the digital immigrants. Thus, to solve this problem, digital immigrant teachers should develop new skills of integrating technology when teaching the digital native students. Similar to this argument, Chapelle and Jamieson (2008) stated that teachers who fail to integrate technology in language teaching are likely to be considered behind the times. Technology Integration in Language Learning can be understood as the use of technology to support th e language learning process. Gilakjani (2017) defines technology integration  as the way of using technology to perform Andre-shape the activities effectively. Teachers may use technology to create tasks for their students (Keser, Uzunboylu, & Ozdamli, 2012) and create local and global communities that will connect the fellow teachers and promote learning opportunities (Bransford, Brown, & Cocking, 2000). TILL will also provide teachers unlimited teaching resources to let students undergo various language learning experiences such as digital reading and writing, listening to podcast, watching movies, and communicating through SNS (Larsen-Freeman & Anderson, 2011). Research also found that the convenience that TILL brings play significant  roles to motivate students in learning a new language (Ahmadi, 2018) and to enhance students’ enthusiasm in language learning (Arifah, 2014). In short, TILL brings positive impacts for LTL  process. According to a number of articles and news that are rife today it proves that from the influence of social media in today's society, especially those who are more familiar with millennialism are not spared what is happening. Many young people also produce or make social media for their material interests. Even though they were said to be young enough to do new things and become accustomed to such things. From the calculations submitted by Facebook Fonder, one of the most Facebook users in Indonesia is included in the count which is already approaching a number that has increased, moreover it is the same as we know from the use of Facebook is none other than the children who initially tried to look and see finally addicted to it and even more than expected by the founder of one of these social media. Critics “ A fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 has emerged in the past few decades, which is characterized with more emphasis on the use of digital technology. Therefore, technology integration in every aspect of human life is in evitable nowadays, including in language teaching and learning (LTL)”.  (Fithriani and friends: 634) I agree with the way of thinking mam poured to help tighten the time of children in learning  by using what is liked by many people today, especially in levels that have not been mixed with  problems that they do not know at all in the future. And hopefully after reading the journal you are able to make, students and other people are motivated by the ideas you provide. So it is our job as teachers and educators to utilize the facilities provided by parents from each of them for their ankles. And its use is also to write what is useful for them, especially in terms of school lessons. “ However, despite this potential, Indonesian EFL teachers have not much used Facebook in their teaching practices, particularly in writing class. This hesitation in using social media in Indonesian EFL writing class might be rooted from some reasons related to the condition of writing class and/or the application. Among the reasons related to the condition of EFL writing instruction in Indonesia are students’ perception of English writing as one of the most difficult skills to master  (Fithriani, 2018a) and the use of traditional approach to teaching writing that views st udents’ writing as a product instead of a process (Fithriani,2017) ” . (Fithriani and friends: 635) I agree with some of the contents of your journal, because it makes it easier for children today who are already difficult to be separated from the most sophisticated tools in the present. Moreover, many parents who have given permission, even bought Android to their children. And do not think about the impact of what happens if they do not watch him properly and correctly, his children can do things that cannot be reached by the estimates of everyone, moreover parents do not care about it. So it is our job as teachers and educators to utilize the facilities provided by  parents from each of them for their ankles. And its use is also to write what is useful for them, especially in terms of school lessons. “CALL’s srcins can be traced back to the 1960 s”  (Fithriani and friends: 634) I Disagree because in my opinion the writers needs to make a little explanation about the history of CALL in 1960. According to Levy: 1997 “defined Computer  -Assisted language Learning (CALL) as “the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning”.   Conclusion So we can conclude that in today's technological era, we can see how fast the progress of children in using whatever is relevant in their lives every day. Starting from how widespread the use of games that have a lot of negative influences and positive influences. Now the discussion above we can conclude that the use of Facebook as a method for learning in writing classes. For example in making children write more status in positive terms and motivate other children to write in any form and can be useful in the future for each student's life. And to make a work that makes them like the things that are usually done on social media. So I think using Facebook for learning methods writing classes for assignments or training children in their abilities and doing things more socially positive for each of them.  References Ahmadi, M.
