1. Megan Harris Technology In Lesson
2. Lesson Objective

To teach students, through direct instruction, how to remove clutter from their writing.

3. How was this done?

Using a smart board, or a power-point slide, I would first model the process of going through each sentence in a paragraph, getting rid of the words I didn’t need.

I would then do this together, working with the students, on the board, and getting their input.

Afterward, students could teach write on their own papers and have their friends edit them.

4. Image of working with the powerpoint. ( No students in Image)
5. Principles of Effective Technology Integration

Students Use of Technology

Had the Smartboard been available, the students would have been able to interact one-on-one with the technology.

Technology Use is Essential

The lesson absolutely needed the technology to show such a broad range of models, and to make the modeling visible to all, and allow whole class interaction.

Focus on Learning Task

The entire presentation was all focues around modeling and working with students to understand the editing concept.

Added Value

the powerpoint added a clearer, or hands on way of understanding an otherwise dry concept.
