The infrastructure of cloud computing is commonly based on cloud drawings to present the telephone network system which has been used in past. Later on cloud computing was employed to represent internet in computer networking diagrams for an underlying infrastructure. General online business applications are delivered from providers of cloud computing that are accessed from other software, for example web service or web browser. The software and data in cloud computing are stored on servers Core Features •  For all consumers clouds commonly appear as a single computing access that is based on computing needs of consumers. •  Cloud computing cost is considerably reduced. A consumer of cloud computing evades expenses in terms of capital by means of renting usage from 3d party provider. This gives developers computing power without the need to invest in their own servers. •   Container Support:  Container Support includes the ability to host and run containers such as Docker. •   Content Delivery:  Content delivery includes the ability to distribute content, including placing objects on the Cloud "edge." •   Database Services:  Database services include scalable databases and database services with features such as SSD storage for fast access, data redundancy, data pipelines, access to relation and other database systems, and much more. •   Deployment:  Many Cloud providers also offer continuous deployment services, as well as the ability to create automated deployments. •   Machine Learning:  Services that help to drive machine learning and artificial intelligence are more recent additions for many Cloud providers. •   Management:  As Cloud services and functions have increased, the ability to control and manage those Cloud services has been added. This can range from connecting to Microsoft Active Directory to configuring compliance, security, scalability, authentication, and other services. •   Mobile Services:  Mobile services provide access to configure mobile apps and work with mobile app features such as notification services, user authentication, data storage, push notifications, analytics, and more.  •   Networking:  Networking services can include domain name services, virtual private networking, load balancing, and more. •   Storage:  Storage was one of the earlier features provided, and generally includes the ability to do private backup and recovery along with the storage and hosting of data. This can include long-term storage options, high redundancy storage, and more. •   Web Site Management:  The ability to manage DNS services, Web services, and more is also available from many Cloud providers. This also can include Web hosting as well as associated features such as analytics, data management, and more. •   Analytics:  Analytics includes the ability to tap into business intelligence, analytics, and visualization tools. •   Application Services:  Application services include features such as the ability to tap into Web service APIs and more. This can include services such as video and game streaming to providing e-mail, notifications, workflow, SMS, or any other types of app services. . . Ques 3 . What do you understand by term data center?Describe the various benefits by establishing the data centre. Ans.3 Data centers are simply centralized locations where computing and networking equipment is concentrated for the purpose of collecting, storing, processing, distributing or allowing access to large amounts of data. They have existed in one form or another since the advent of computers. In the days of the room-sized behemoths that were our early computers, a data center might have had one supercomputer. As equipment got smaller and cheaper, and data processing needs began to increase -- and they have increased exponentially -- we started networking multiple servers (the industrial counterparts to our home computers) together to increase processing power.Organizations benefit from data centers in a variety of ways. Most specifically, they allow a company to focus on its consumer objectives instead of technological maintenance. Protecting Power- Outsourcing data control lessens the impact of a power disaster or failure. Technological and natural power outages can wreak havoc on an organization that is supplying its own power because servers that are kept onsite are prone to more broadband issues.  Cutting Costs  Some experts believe the U.S. economy loses between $200 billion and $570 billion a year due to power outages and other disturbances. Data centers eliminate a portion of this loss. They utilize a system that can withstand unfavorable power conditions that generators and surge suppressors cannot. Generators and surge suppressors require significant energy to start up and maintain. They are also not immune to power spikes and other electrical disturbances. These factors contribute to skyrocketing power costs. Improving Efficiency   By law, electrical power can vary widely enough to cause significant problems for IT equipment. According to current U.S. standards, voltage can legally vary from 5.7 percent to 8.3 percent under absolute specifications. This means that utility services promising 208 volts may legally deliver within the range of 191 to 220 volts. A data center eliminates the uncertainty surrounding power levels with strict guidelines and monitoring processes. Additionally, utility power isn’t always clean. Businesses may have their own power source but public utilities are often used to supply central hub. IT functions are slowed because of the numerous organizations utilizing the same power grid. Companies that utilize a data center will notice significant improvements in technological speed and function, as data centers privatize power to ensure that only one business is connected to each grid. Ques4. What are the various benefits of cloud computing over traditional computing? Ans 4 .   In past few years cloud industry is gaining good momentum. Many companies are moving their workloads to cloud f rom traditional data center. ➢   Low maintenance cost .  For a customer maintenance cost is almost nil. Since you are using hardware from cloud provider’s datacenter, you dont need to maintain hardware at all. Your cost is saved from geographical location cost, hardware  purchase, upgrades, datacenter staff, power, facility management cost etc. All this is bared by cloud provider . ➢   Cheap resources. Cloud providers has pool of resources and from which you get assigned your share. Means cloud providers maintain and operate large volume of resources and distribute smaller chunks to customers. ➢   Scale as per your need.  In traditional datacenter you have to study and plan your capacity well in advance to finalize your hardware purchase. Once purchased you are stuck with purchased limited capacity and you can not accommodate if capacity requirement grows beyond limit before your estimated time. ➢   Pay as you use. In traditional datacenter whenever you buy hardware you make an investment upfront even if you dont use full capacity of purchased hardware. In cloud, you are billed per your use. ➢   Latest technology at your serve. Cloud provides you latest tech always and you dont need to worry about upgrades or maintenance. All these hardware aspects is headache of cloud providers and they take care of it in background. As a customer, all latest technology is at your service without any hassle. ➢   Redundancy. Redundancy in traditional datacenter means cost investment to build almost identical facility of primary. Along with it also involves cost for infrastructure which connect them. Also, on-site redundancy for power, network etc. is also expensive and maintenance prone. When you are opting cloud, everything said previously is just vanished from your plate. Cloud at single entity level like single server, storage disk etc is already redundant. Nothing to be done and no extra cost is being billed to you for it. ➢   Accessibility. With on-premise datacenter, you have very limited connectivity mostly locally. If you want access of inside entities, you need to maintain your own VPN. Cloud services has portal with access to almost all of their services over web. It can be accessed from anywhere with internet. Also, if you want to opt in for VPN, you get a pre-configured secure VPN from your cloud provider. No need of designing and maintaining VPN! Ques5. Discuss the layered cloud architechure.
