More recently the introduction of services to Funeral Directors has given Paul an opportunity to develop a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the online representation, services and revenue opportunities which can be attained, and also to develop an insight into the general public s use of social networking and stand-alone services to commemorate the lives of their deceased friends and relatives. The internet pervades all aspects of our lives, online memorials have been offered by many organisations, directly or indirectly to the industry for several years. Memorials have not and can not make such a quantum leap as many other aspects of our day to day life. Paul Roche s presentation looks at how these services have emerged, developed, succeeded and in some instances failed, while also looking at the inevitable impact of social networking. He will also look at where the interested parties including Funeral Directors, family, friends, newspapers and online providers have benefited from an emotional, business improvement and financial perspective.
