They are social group that are affected most by technology sophistication compared to the other community. Even they participate in public space, the level of interaction within community is still low as they are confined in cyber world that expose through applications in smart phones, androids, I-pads and tablets. Gadgets cannot be separable from their needs of life wherever they go. This can be supported by Keith as ubiquitous technology is already impacting all of the physical environments (Rachel Cooper, 2009) PROBLEM STATEMENT Sophisticated technology brings pro and cons to the communal. It ease the life  but without aware of it, the social problem also increase. According to Andreea (2011), daily life involved a lot of physical activities regardless at any environment or context. The common man during old days was not as luxurious as modern day today. However, they are more active compared to today which is carried technologies everywhere they go and stimulate inactive life that may affects health someday. Therefore, young people are the most affected group with this issue. They are living and interact in cyber world instead of interact physically in public space. Apart of the number of public spaces provided by the authority and designers are increased, but they still not attract people to enjoy there (Rachel Cooper, 2009). It is like a big competition between the liveable environment with the cyber environment in encouraging people to interact and communicate with others. Besides, as stated by Keith (2010), the social environment is located in the physical environment, and the two interact in very important ways. Therefore, in order to find out the solution for the problem of dysfunction and value of public space for young people to be able interacts physically, this research was done. RESEARCH GAP Public space covers a wide range of area. It varies from the functions, circulation and space layout. Therefore, this research is limited covered for shopping malls, bus stop and public parks. Interaction in public space consists of varied age. However, young people were chosen on this research because of their value for the future generation. They must be educated first to appreciate the public space to be able use continuously when they become old. Therefore there is a dearth research done on physical environment impact on young people interaction in public space    HYPOTHESIS Better physical environment (good lighting, comfortable temperature, appropriate noise) leads to improved young people interaction RESEARCH AIM To evaluate and identify the effectiveness of physical environment on young  people interaction in public space. RESEARCH OBJECTIVES 1.   To analyse whether interactions differ with age or with place; and whether the presence of particular people or groups affects the use of public space  by other people or groups; 2.   To find out understanding of physical environment performance among young people in public space; 3.   To ascertain relationships between physical environment and young people interaction in public space; 4.   To develop a set of factors to evaluate effectiveness of physical environment performance on young interaction. RESEARCH QUESTIONS 1.   Do the interactions differ with age or with place and do the presence of different group of people affect the use of public space by other group? 2.   How the physical environment defines young people interaction in public space? 3.   How can social interaction in public space be achieved positively? 4.   What indicator can be used to evaluate the physical environment  performance on young people interaction in public space? RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Generally, there are 3 phases of methodology for this research. The first phase in doing this research is to define the area of study, the concept, approaches and scope of physical environment by review precedent research and literature review of impact of physical environment. The problem identification is reviewed through various sources of literature, observation, study visits and unstructured interviews. The second phase is by analysis of survey by developing and distributing questionnaire to young people in public space. All collected data is analyzed to get findings of the research and to achieve the research objectives. After analysis being reviewed, the researcher suggests and recommends ways to improve the outdoor environment. In the third phase, the researcher concludes all findings and provides future study recommendation. Theoretical research (Literature Review) The information that supports the research will find out through books,  journals, articles and internets. The topic of supporting information mostly will focus more on young people interaction in public space, factors that affecting interaction and characters of physical environment that affect young people interaction in public space. Data Collection Some equipment will be put on the site to find out the data required that affecting people interaction in public space. The equipment such as sound    meter for noise and thermometer for temperature and human comfort. Non-participant observation A non-participative, semi-structured observation method was devised for recording basic data about the characteristics, location and activities of young  people within the observation sites. The public spaces selected for observation were shopping malls, parks and bus stop across all weekdays and weekends and in all weathers. Survey and questionnaire The survey group for this research study is made up for young  people’s  ( 15-23years old) that are participate in public space. See Appendix A to review the questionnaire. Procedure A survey is set up and will distribute to young people that participate in shopping mall, park and bus stop. The participation from the youngsters are voluntary. Data Analysis The data was analyzed directly by compilation of survey done and the findings are presented in descriptive statistics which includes pie charts and bar graphs. RESEARCH OUTCOME Enough day lighting, comfortable noise and interesting façade or furniture mostly suggested and vote among the people to be able access and interact with others in public space. This finding will be supporting by graph and chart to be easy to grasp by others. RESEARCH OUTPUT The research will be produced by the complete report of research with supporting facts, findings and reference. IMPACT OF THE RESEARCH Better physical environment with enough lighting, comfortable noise and interesting façade or furniture will decrease mental illness among the young  people and others. This will lead a better environment to communicate and encourage more interaction between young people and other groups. Hence. A liveable community will create and increased sense of belonging in the community. SIGNIFICANT OF RESEARCH Physical environment can influence the social and task interaction among the  people in it (Jay L. 2009). Lack of an appropriate physical environment can stimulate the development of mental illness. The physical environment (acoustics, lighting, finishing,) also has either positive or negative impact on mentally ill individuals. Negative impacts are associated for instance with increased levels of agitation and anxiety leading to social isolation or disengagement from communal, physical and educational activities. On the other hand, the positive impacts seem to be reduced agitation and anxiety    increasing the involvement of the patients within social and intellectual activities (Rachel Cooper et. al. 2009).
